Your audio and your transcripts never leave your device. An account is optional. If you make one, we keep your name, your email and a scrambled copy of your password, and nothing else.
Echo turns speech into text on your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch. The speech model runs on the device, and so do clean up and summaries, which use Apple's on-device model. Audio and transcripts are stored only in Echo's storage on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
Recordings made on Apple Watch go straight to your own iPhone to be transcribed, over Apple's connection between the two. They do not pass through our server.
You never need an account to use Echo. If you create one, we store:
This lives on our server at api.jaybulb.com, which runs on Cloudflare. Account emails are sent through Resend. We do not sell or share account data, show ads, or use it to track you.
In Echo, open Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. Your account, name and email are removed from our server right away. Your transcripts stay on your device until you delete them or the app. You can also ask by email below.
The speech models ship inside the app. If you pick the large model in Settings, Echo downloads it once from Hugging Face. That request carries no personal data.
The web version at echo.jaybulb.com uses your browser's speech service, which some browsers run in the cloud (Chrome sends audio to Google). Use the iPhone or Mac app if you want everything on your device. The web app keeps its history in your browser.
Echo costs one dollar, once. Apple handles the payment. We never see your payment details.
None. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no third-party trackers.
Echo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. Without an account, Echo collects nothing from anyone.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
